Paulette V. Herbich , is an American-born mezzo soprano who lives and works in Vienna , Austria . She has had an international career at opera houses and on the concert stage. Immediately upon receiving her Master' s Degree from the University of Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna, she began an engagement with the Vienna State Opera, and has also held permanent positions at the Vienna Volksoper and the City Theater in Wurzburg, Germany. In addition to her many operatic performances throughout Europe, she has performed as soloist with the major orchestras in Vienna, throughout Europe, and in Japan and the United States. Recent solo performances include Rossini' s Stabat Mater in Belgrade, the Verdi Requiem in Venice, and a recording of Mahler' s Das Lied von der Erde in Vienna. She is also active as a teacher of voice for the Vienna Conservatory and the University of Music in Vienna, as well as giving master classes in Europe and the United States. Herbich has been a regular guest with the Percussion Plus Project in Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia, Austria, and the United States, and has premiered several new works with the ensemble.
